As an associate, McKenna D. Dorais aids the partners and assists clients in all practice areas of the firm, with an emphasis on Bankruptcy, Commercial Litigation, Estate Planning, Successions, and Retirement Orders. During law school, Ms. Dorais gained experience as a law clerk with two separate law firms. Ms. Dorais joined the Derbes Law Firm in 2023.

During law school, Ms. Dorais was selected to be a Junior Associate for the Journal of Energy Law and Resources where she ultimately served as Production Editor for Volume XI. Ms. Dorais was an active member of the Public Interest Law Society as part of the Pro Bono committee. In her final year of law school, she served as 3L secretary for the Student Bar Association.

Ms. Dorais was born and raised in Denton, Texas. She moved to Louisiana to pursue her legal career by enrolling in LSU’s 3 + 3 program, earning an undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 2021 and a Juris Doctorate degree from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2023. While attending LSU, she was a member of the LSU Tiger Band for the 2017 football season. She enjoys reading books and visiting local coffee shops.
